Righy Oh mi ole brancher I have just uninstalled everything to do with Roxio and Binned the whole lot I have made a similar production on my other PC which has nowhere near the specs of this one, I used Nero 7 and its come out great So short of sitting down for yonks again to have another dissapointment ??? I dont know I'll re-instal and give it one last go, but I'm not jumping with joy on this EMC10 its not that good, even the CD copying is worse, dont know how an amateur would get on, I thought they called it "EASY MEDIA CREATOR"" does the easy bit stand for "binning"? Ah well! here goes give it one more try

thanks

Dave

Have you disabled System Restore? System Restore will cause the rendering process to freeze since it duplicates the process.

Well My friend, I have now made a basic videowave of 6 minutes, no fancy stuff, and it burnt to ISO image then to disc, I then made a 32 minute show with transitions and video overlays etc it plays well but on recoding only goes to 7% so the same old problem

lol

Okay, try a real short project, say 10 minutes or so, and go with the default menu in MyDVD, and try to burn to an image file.

Sorry I got the slots wrong the card I have is PCI-e ( express) so I have this slot and 3 PCI slots available using an MSI 945P Neo3 mainboard with sata hard drive 3.5 Gig duel core CPU

1gig ram

Newegg.com has many PCI-e video cards to choose from. Your power supply has to be large enough to handle this type of card.

You mean you used Videowave to create your production the used "Output production to .."? In waht format is your output: avi or mpeg or what? Its a bit unclear exactly what you are doing, some more information would help.

How long in time is your video production? A standard 4.7GB DVD will only hold 60 minutes of video at best quality. Anything above that you will have to reduce quality to get it to fit on a single DVD.

Videowave to create production MY DVD to burn it. it is 6103.5 GB long 59 minutes and has been created in hardware render mode. pal. mpeg 4 I am not trying to burn to DVD disc I know its longer than 4,7gig I am trying to render it to my hard drive, but it wont render past 16%, tried rendering it to a folder as well but 16% is the most it will go to, I've made dozens of DVD's with videowave 8 and no problem but 10??

All mi drivers are up to date a modern PC 3 months old since I built it. XP pro SP" Nvidea geforce 7300 LE: with the new forceware release. new updated directX, done just about everything.

when I sent this production to mydvd for rendering it will play the whole way through in mydvd but on rendering it goes to 16% then stop, no more stagnates.

The light edition graphics card is the downfall. Change to Software render, and try again.

tried the software rendering but it makes no difference Do you recon a better graphics card will do the trick then if so whats a good one

Can anyone out there reccommend a GRAPHICs CARD that will work with EMC10 videowave.

I've re=installed sat down for hours again and made a videowave production in both SOFTWARE and HARDWARE rendering mode. Tried to save it as an ISO file to my hard drive, (Negative) tried burning direct (NEGATIVE) all mi drivers are up to date, my graphics card is: NVIDIA Geforce 7300 LE with the most recent Forceware release, my last option seems to be change the graphics card before I chuck this EMC10 in the fire for what its worth, creator 7 worked better but I gave this away mores the pity

So any update on a graphics card that will work please?

Any mid-range PCIe card (presuming that is the slot you have free) will do. It doesn't need to be a top end one (256 MB is usually enough)

Either ATI or nVidia is fine (some people swear by one and others swear at it  )

What would your reccomendations be mi friend I have always used ATI but built this machine with the Nvidia geforce 7300 LE and it looks like quite a few people are having trouble rendering and burning and most have this graphics card, I use Videowave alot, Nero is great it works fine, it works fine in creator 7 in creator 8 I had burning issues and in 10? well I cant render at all

regards

Give me a good card and I'll buy one tomorrow before I chuck EMC10 in the bin and revert to Nero

It all depends on what slot you have. Do you have an AGP slot, or do you have a PCI-e slot?

Well I have justuninstalled everything from software to hardware got shot of the geforce 7300LE graphics card and bought a new ATI SAPPHIRE X1650 PRO 512 MB and installed it MY PC will run this comfortably plenty of power as well, I have reinstalled EMC10 quickly made a video production in videowave and tried to render it both to hard drive and DVD,Guess what! Its crap it freezes on 7% and just sits there till eternity, so its a software problem. the only answer I can see now is after all these years using Roxio, is to get NERO and have something that works this EMC10 is rubbish. so dustbin here it comes, I wouldnt give it to my worst enemy, Its a shame because the program is excellent. it just wont render SO??? What else can I say or do, I've spent a fortune trying to get this to work, Any ideas please post them here I'll keep mi eye on it, but I am installing NERO now

mickevil: How do we know that there isn't a problem in the file and all this graphic card stuff is just a diversion from the real issue?

You mentioned file size, which is meaningless, at the beginning but what is the time of this monster?

Later you say it is 59 minutes long but 6.1gb. That isn't possible so something is not right.

Can you add some files of known quality into VW to make one that is 59 minutes long then try that without any whistle or bells in MyDVD?

I've made 2 more videowave productions 1 in hardware and 1 in software render mode both of these are 3000mb well under the 4.7 disc size but in trying to render neither go past 7% in saving to disc or saving as an ISO these are a repeat of a production I made using creator 8.5 which used to crash regular whilst in production mode but not in render mode. I've been onto tec support and they have gone through everything and suggest its a graphics problem. I got EMC10 for the 3D video effects, if it cant cope then its no good or a new graphics card dont know what else to try

6103.5 MB is over 6 GB. (i.e. 1000MB = 1 GB) And you are trying to burn to a DVD disc that only holds 4.7GB ?? what's up with that ?? Are you using a DL DVD disc ? (8.5GB)

First of all, did you uninstall the old drivers before installing the new ones?

Also, did you get the latest drivers from ATI or did you use the older ones that came on a CD? Despite the card being new (to you) the drivers on it can be some time out of date by the time you got it

Yes my friend I took all the old drivers out and directly updated with the new ones from ATI it wont even render past 7% in software mode " " off with Roxio now its been 5 weeks since I started this project to take to Australia with me at the end of January, and still its no good. I have made lots in EMC8.5 but that has its moments, its definately not a hardware problem

lol

So that seems to indicate that it is something in your 32 minute production that is causing the failure. You might build up the 32 minute production to see at what point exactly it fails. It could well be a transition or overlay that the video system has problems with
