Videowave 8 Encounters Problem, Shuts Down

I have a 17min VW8 slide show production that, when previewed in VW, runs fine until it hits the end credits. Upon starting into the panel that contains the credits, the audio plays but the credits don't. After about 2-4 seconds of this a banner pops up on the screen saying, "VideoWave 8 has encountered a problem and needs to shut down.". When I click on the button for further details it reads-

"Error signature:

App name: videowave 8.exe, App ver. 8.5.00

Mod name: vcptextoverlay.dll

Mod ver. 8.0.5.41, offset: 00029648."

 

I'm using a single black panel with standard rolling credits. I extend the time for the panel to contain the entire credit segment. I've even tried deleting and replacing the entire panel and credits but, after I get about half way through adding the credits, VW shuts it self down in the same manner.

I just installed Mixer is null hotfix. Now things are worse. When I try to open MyDVD, I get the same: VW8 has encountered a problem and must shut down. a message was sent to Microsoft (big deal), but no error # was given. I did glean the following

AppName VideoWave8.ex AppVer. 7.0.315.0 ModNamesbdata.dll ModVer. 8.9.2.2 Offset 000392b6

 

I did not install the hotfix for error 80004005. Should I?

 

I'm considering removing EMC8 and reinstalling it (?)
