vintagemac
I just purchased toast for my mac, and I am trying to copy a DVD to my hard drive like I Use to do with Neros. Is it possible to copy DVD's (as a quicktime file) to my hard drive or am I only able to copy to a recordable DVD?
tsantee
If you choose Save as disc image from the File menu you'll have a mountable disc image of your DVD on the hard drive. I'm guessing you're referring to copying a video DVD. If you want to export the video from a video DVD to another format such as Quicktime then do the following: Insert the disc. Choose DVD video as the format in the Video window. Choose DVD with the top button of the Media Browser. When the DVD appears in the browser window, use the second button in the browser to choose the title or chapter level of the DVD. That way you can choose which titles or chapters within titles you want to convert. Drag the titles or chapters you want from the media browser to the Video window. Toast extracts MPEG files from the DVD. Now select the titles that appear in the Video window and click the Export button at the bottom of the window. Here you can choose what format you want for conversion.
