EMC 9 - Is it possible to make custom menus on DVDs?

RampanT

Question

Hi,

I was wondering if it was possible to make custom menus in Easy Media Creator 9?

As far as I can see, there are preset formats for the menu's, but I can't see anyway of importing my own backgrounds etc.

Is this possibly with EMC 9?

Thanks for any help you can give.

Hi, thanks for the quick reply.

I don't actually have an 'Edit Menu Background' option. I wouldn't have missed that. :) All I get is 'Edit Menu Style'.

Is it possible that I have a version with reduced functionality? This software came free, pre-installed on my Dell laptop.

Thanks again for your help.

Forgot to say - if this is a case of reduced functionality - is there a quick/cheap way to upgrade this version to the version that does allow custom menus? - ie -Cheaper than buying a completely new copy of EMC9?

Thanks.

Yes, you do have the reduced functionality DE (Dell Edition) version.

If you look hard, you can find the full EMC 10 for around $50 (using rebates). There is no discount if you own a free version. As for Quick, you can download to get the program. Suggestion : make a back-up disc as soon as the download finishes or order a back up disc just in case. Don't' use any download accelerator, they try to do too much and often try too many connections so you exceed the allowable download count.

Also, if you just want to try out the full version, there is a trial version elsewhere on these forums. Download and install that to see if you can change the menu with your hardware. That trial version does not have some add-ons but for VideoWave and My DVD it is the production version. EMC 10 is the latest version so there have been some upgrades/simplification from V9 to V10 with an eye toward syncing with portable devices and to look and act like a Vista program (it does run in XP).
