Roxio keeps re-installing itself constantly after booting up

Despite a successful, flawless and error-free installation of Roxio Easy Media Creator Suite 10 (not the Deluxe version), the program insists on re-installing itself periodically after reaching my desktop after boot ups. I've never seen this happen with any other versions of this application (6, 7, 8, or 9).

 

What's causing this irregular re-installation to keep occurring and what can be done to stop it completely?

 

I'm currently running the most recent updated version of Roxio (1.01) but the first release did this as well.

I've also noticed that I'm unable to shut down or restart Windows since I first installed Roxio 10. There's obviously no direct link that I can make at this point but I suspect Roxio is probably the cause since I've never seen this type of behavior with Windows previously (over the last 6 years).
