Audio in Preview mode but none in Production

Question

Hello All,

I have read every post on this forum, and have also contacted tech support. Unfortunately, I have not been able to resolve this issue (yet!). I have been using Videowave since about v7 or so, and like the program. I upgraded to EMC 10 so that I could edit video on my new Windows Vista PC which has a ton of RAM and available disk space.

First off, tech support instructed me to update all of my drivers, upgrade DirectX, and DISABLE all of the services in Windows. Being on Vista (with a completely up to date "Windows Update") there is nothing to update. I am on DirectX10, the sound card driver is up to date as well. The crazy thing is that I told support that I was on EMC 10 and they emailed me instructions for EMC 9. I think they might be worthless.

Anyway, I have an AVI file that I have captured. It plays just fine in Windows Media Player. I can bring it into a Videowave Production and edit it fine. When I preview it, the audio is also fine. I can also locate the audio track in the Videowave editor and even edit the audio track if I needed to.

All is good until I try and output the production to a Video file. I have tried both AVI and MPEG-2 and neither gives me the audio track. This is getting a bit frustrating, as I have alot of tapes that I want to convert to MPEG-2 and until this is solved, I'm toast.

I would really appreciate anyone who might have solved this problem to help me out. I have seen some posts here about audio not working, but none have the situation that I have, that audio works in Preview but not in the Production. I'm somewhat resourceful, so I have tried a bunch of stuff already and have also searched the web but I am stumped!!

Thanks so much for listening!!
