Same Sad, Sorry, Old Song

Dr_Dale

Question

I'm tossing my hat in with the rest of all y'all who can't get EMC10 to work with Vista Home Premium. No matter what I open, I get that nasty C++ runtime error box. What is especially maddening is that I've got EMC9 working just fine on my Acer laptop with Vista Home Premium.

What's up with that? It's positively maddening. I'd sure appreciate it if someone could shed some light on this.

To recap:

When I try to open Media Manager, I get a message that reads: "Runtime Error! Program: C:\Program Files\Roxio\Media Manager 10\MediaManager10.exe" yada yada yada. When I close that box, another pops up that says: "Runtime Error! Program: C:\Program Files\Roxio\Media Manager 10\MediaManager10.exe . . . R6025 - pure virtual function call"

I get the same result when trying to open Photo Suite. I get a simple "Error: can't open that skin" with MyDVD.

Hope that is sufficient info.

I only got this once and did a clean install and it worked well. I do not get the exact same error but a similar one in v9 occasionally and I simply do a repair install and it works out fine. I do know that Roxio is aware of the problem and hopefully, working on it since it does seem to crop up much lately.
