Windows Installer Keeps Coming Up

PDGBC

Question

After what appeared to be a successful install of EMC 10, I keep getting the Windows Installer dialog popping up whenver I launch EMC 10. The dialog sits in the background and complains about something that looks like it is looking for the original install files. I installed via electronic download. How do I make this go away? ANy ideas appreciated.

Thx

Thanks Bruce, i will give this a try. However, looks like i have to re-download the install package as I get a checksum error on the file. ALthough the original installation did not complains? :-( will probably do a full install again, just in case.

That could be the problem - your download is corrupt. Once you get it ezxtracted, I'd recommend burning the folder contents to CD and keeping that as backup

Actually, I redownloaded RoxioEMCSuitev10_4737GA50R05.exe from the update site and when I do file properties on it in Windows it shows as corrupt as well?

Not sure why

It should show the following sizes:

Size 752,154.688

Size on disk 752,156.672

What size is yours?

These are the sizes I get from the latest download for both size and size on disk

719 MB (754,475,008 bytes)

This version was downloaded from roxio support site.

I also get the same size on the version i downloaded from digital river a few days ago. Seems to coincidental to me.

When did you download yours?

Mine was downloaded way back at the start - the date on it is 11th September but the figures I quoted are from windows file properties (right click on the file and 'properties')

Filename is RoxioEMCSuitev10_4737CA50R05.exe - is yours definitely G for Golf and not C for Charlie?
