auto updates unable to find msi file. Looping

I'm running Vista Ultimate 64bit. Installed Version 9 and then upgraded via the downloadable version to 10.

No problems with the install to 10 until about a week ago when the program started prompting for updates and now it goes through a loop about 10 times asking for a msi install file to install updates.

I did a search of my hard drive and the only msi file it could find was the version 9 which it says in incompatible.

The software update(version 10) that I downloaded are 2 executable files that I'm guessing has the msi file buried somewhere, but I can't get to or point the update program to. I'm guessing the only way around this is to attempt a re-install of version 10, but wanted to get other feedback prior to going through this.

Should I attempt to uninstall version 10 and then re-install, or just re-install version 10?
