Convert avi to ipod

pageyboy

Question

Hello can anyone help? I bought this product today and have followed the instructions to the letter. I am trying to convert non protected avi files to ipod format using easy media creator 10. I add my files into the copy and convert software and choose ipod video as my ouput. I then select save as and choose the my desktop as the output location. I then get an empty folder on my desktop with no file in it. These avi files play flawlessly on my computer and convert no problems using other apps. I bought this today to have everything i needed in one place but i am starting to regret it. Can anyone please help?

Hi pageyboy,

There are a couple of posts further down about the problems with iPods - but to repeat my experiences:-

With the family's nano and 5th generation iPod, we can use the Video Copy and Capture and transfer a avi. or mov. file directly onto the iPods - I have a screen shot to show the page - if one of the guru's can advise me how to insert that onto this page.

However the daughter's classic iPod although itappears on itunes - is invisible to Roxio.

ypt, have you tried using Video wave to output to an IPod usable format (if needed) and then use Media Manager to do the transfer. I don't have an IPod so I can't try it.

Michael, upload the image to an online image sharing site and add a link to your post. Only a few who do a lot of posting have been given the permission to add an image to the forum.

this will take you to the flickr site and say it is a duff link - click on the image in the middle and that should take you to the image - sorry about the convaluted way, but the roxio forum insists on having a jpg or gif extension on the end of the link. It's as difficult to add an attachment as it is to use some of the actual program!

No it doesn't. Go to whatever site you want to post a URL. Click in the Address box to hightlight the URL, once you are in the site. Right click on it, select Copy, go the post you are making, click in the space that you want it pasted, right click, and select paste. Click on Add Reply, and your post is there, along with the URL.

Hi Bruce,

Thanks - that's what I did the second time - you were too quick getting in before I had chance to edit the post - I would say again though that the roxio forum will only accept adding an image that has a "picture" extension e.g. jpg - it may be only that for us newbies? but that is how it was.

Have a Happy New Year - only 1 day and 5 hours for us in the UK
