2 "Burning" questions

MarkE

Question

I am having trouble with the music cd I burned. Specifically, I used the Music Disc Creator ~ Audio CD project. There are 2 issues that I can't figure out:

1. About 5 of the songs (the first one and four near the end of the cd) have a significant amount of static and there is none to be heard on the original songs.

2. An even MORE frustrating issue is that the last song did not even burn and the next to the last song only recorded half of it. Some other details include:

* - I used a Sony 80 minute CD-R

* - I made sure the disc size said "80 Min"

* - The total length of the songs was 79:15.

I am wondering if somehow the software thought it was a 74 minute CD the last song was 5:30 in length and the next to last song was short by 1:15 (approximately). So, if you do the math, 79:15 minus 5:30 and 1:15 is 72:30.

I would greatly appreciate help in these matters. Thanks in advance!

Maximun length of music = 78 minutes. That's the CD standard and cannot be changed.

As for the static, what else were you doing while the disc was being burned? It sounds like something else was running like your anti-virus. If not it may be related to the amount of music that was tried to be ut on the disc.
