Cannot Find Files For Capture

bcrandco

Question

From what I read I should be able to capture the VOB files from the DVD (non-commercuial), but when I try to do so (i.e. click on the dvd in the capture window), no files appear in the right window, although it does open the video_ts folder. It just says there are no files to show in this view. I used DVD decrypter to transfer the DVD to hard drive but I still have no luck in "seeing" the dvd files. Am I missing a setting? I bought the EMC 7.5 CD.

Thanks

MK

If the mini DVD has not been finalized, you aren't going to be able to even see it. Has it been finalized?

If the DVD is not encrypted, then why are you using DVD Decrypter? There is no need whatsoever to use that program, unless you are trying to break encryption.

I used decrypter because it made the 4 vobs into one for editing. I can view the vobs fine with any movie/dvd viewer. I can find other vobs, just not this one. I noticed that the others have the sound as an AC3 and this one as an LPCM (0xA0 - Audio - LPCM / 2ch / 48kHz / 16bit / LBA: 5 / PTS: 00:00:00.060 / Delay: 0ms

0xE0 - Video - MPEG-2 / 720x480 (NTSC) / 4:3 / LBA: 1 / PTS: 00:00:00.060 / Delay: 0ms) but that should still be OK I would think.

I've already tried that using NCI CD Maker 2000 Plus, but Videowave is not recognizing it with that either. How should I be copying the miniDVD to the hard drive?

I just copy the folders off of the mini DVD to the hard drive, click on the Roxio Home icon on the desktop, then click on the Capture icon. I then click on the DVD Movie Titles on Hard Disk button, and capture from there.

Maybe that's the problem. Yes there are many files in it--not just one. When I browse on the computer I can see that but when I browse in capture, it doesn't go past Video TS. What should I do?

Actually, clicking on the Video_TS folder is what triggers the capture. It is supposed to capture all of the .vob files, etc. to an mpeg2 file.

In the Capture program it show the correct address in #1 but is completely blank in #2

What do you mean correct address? How did you copy the files to your hard drive? Go through My Computer to do it.

Unfortunately, I don't have one of the DVD's from my daughter's video camera so I can try this again.

If you browse to the folder where the Video TS folder is, click on that folder, do you see anything in the window on the right side of the Capture screen?

I went through my computer and copied it to a folder. Then I went to capture and browsed to it and clicked on it. Nothing came up in step 2 and nothing showed up on the screen on the right.

Darn. Try capturing from the disc, again. Make sure that you click on the DVD drive with the DVD icon by it. I think that you see two of the same drive, but the one with the icon by it is the one that you want to click.

I read that somehwere else that you see two of the same icon, so I tried that last night, but I do not see two of the same icon. I only have one icon for the DVD.

I also tried copying a DVD that I made (not the mini DVD) and still had the same problem. I've used this program for two years but had never tried a DVD because I had a camcorder that I captured from. I'm at a loss as to what to do. I have to make a video of my grandson's basketball team and I just have to get this to work somehow.

You could try a Repair of the software through Add/Remove Programs, but I don't know if that will work. You may have other issues going on with your computer.

Please don't give up on me. I'm probably doing something simple-wrong. When I browse, I go all the way to Video TS and click on it. Am I clicking on the right thing or should I click where the movie is listed. Nothing ever shows on the right side of the screen. Nothing ever shows under #2 on the capture screen. When I was capturing from the camcorder, something showed on both of those.

I don't believe that you are doing anything wrong. The unfortunate thing is, my daughter lives over 100 miles from here, and I don't have any of those mini-discs to give it a try.

I was hoping that one of the other folks would drop in here to help.

I'm having the same problem trying to capture mini DVDs from my daughter's new camcorder. I also need help with this.

DO you see any files in that Video_TS folder when you browse to it using Windows explorer?

If the mini DVD has not been finalized, you aren't going to be able to even see it. Has it been finalized?
