burning slideshow with music to a dvd

AngieBoop

Question

I got Easy Media creater Suite 10 for a Christmas present from my husband because I specifically asked for it. Reason being: my mom is passing away and I want/need to make a slide show out of all her old pictures with her favorite song "Stand By Me" by Ben E. King. I have the song saved on my computer as an mp3. I installed the program and uploaded the pictures and song. The slide show works great. But the instructions in the supplied book are not clear cut. When it comes to burning the dvd, it seems to go thru the process but yet the dvd is always blank or the things says "No dvd". What am I doing wrong OR not doing? I need specific instructions<pardon my ignorance but my mind is frazzled what with taking care of my mom as she slips away>. I would desire to make the dvd so I can play it on a dvd player at her funeral services. I don't have a tv hooked up to my computer tho. Do I have to? I have Win's XP,on a HP Pavillion computer. TY and please advise! Angie

How did you try to burn the DVD?

I had an issue where it would not encode, it would compile but not encode. The fix was to turn off UAC in Vista or Right Click on Properties on the Roxio shortcut on the desktop and go to Advanced and select always run as administrator. To turn off UAC go to Run command (Windows symbol and hit R) type in msconfig and go to Tools Tab and scroll down and hit Disable User Account Control, Launch, then OK and reboot. Either one worked for me.

Angie,

My condolences

Perhaps this (link) will help a new EMC 10 user. It was written for EMC 9 but they work the same. Disc Copier is renamed to something like Disc Copy and Convert.

Also make sure that you are doing everything in software render rather than hardware render. Since you didn't post your computer specs we don't know if your computer will handle hardware rendering. In Video Wave, go to the top menu and select Tools>Options and put a dot ner software.

What application are you using to try to burn your DVD (as grandpabruce asked)? you should be using MyDVD to set up the menus and burn to the disc. If you are using anything else, it will not work or will give you problems (like MyDVD Express).

On the music, if you downloaded that mp3 from an online shop, it will not work. If you ripped it from a CD or from another source, put the mp3 file in Music Disc Creator and export it to a wav file. That will increase the chances that the music will play properly. Depending on the length of the slide show, you would be able to add additional music cuts.

Please also remove your e-mail address; it increase the amount of spam you will get. If someones wants to send you a private message (pm), they can click on your profile name and select send pm.
