video clip from video to overlay

MADNESS

Question

If I am editing a video and I have a video in the video section. I want to take a clip and cut it and move it to an overlay, how would you do this. I wanted to try and placed several clips from the video next to each other in the overlay with different effects on them.

You would have to cut out everything you don't want and output that to a mpg2 file. You would then add that to the overlay.

It may also be possible if you create scenes from the video and add that. I've never tried it but it should work. I'll let you know; I'll try it now.

Edit; I just tried it and it worked. :P You'll have to play around with the audio because the main video's audio track AND the overlay's audio track will play at the same time. If you select the overlay and then select edit audio, you'll get the audio editor and be able to lower the volume so it can't be heard.
