Slideshow Assistant Freezing when applying Transition Style

eslp

Question

I'm new to Roxio and not particularly computer savvy so please pardon me if I don't supply enough or the appropriate information on this initial request for help.

I purchased Creator 10 last week, installed and received message that I had insufficient graphics capabilities so I had a new graphics card installed (Maddog Prowler Radeon 7000 AGP 64MB graphics accelerator) and that seemed to fix that problem. I produced one slideshow successfully. Then, I immediately tried to produce a second slideshow and my computer froze. I've searched HELP, tried Roxann and sent an email to Roxio Technical Support. I received an email back from Tech Support but it seemed to be geared at Creator 9, not 10 and I'm thinking that maybe they thought I was installing 10 overtop of 9. Anyhow, this is play-by-play what is happening.

When I open Slideshow next to the "Preview" button in lower left corner it says "0 images, 0 audiofile, style: Dissolve". It seems that the style is preset somehow. I can add photos and audio then preview production fine. But, then I click "Next" after preview Transition Style "Dissolve" is highlighted and the example of Dissolve starts immediately. Slide duration is "5.00 and "Apply Pan and Zoom to all" is already checked. I had used "dissolve" on my previous slideshow but I think it was the only one I could get to work. When I try to highlight a different transition style, try to uncheck "Apply Pan..." or click "Preview", "Next" or "Cancel" nothing happens. If I click "Control, Alt, Del." I get report that Roxio Slideshow Assistant is Not Responding. Clicking "end task now" the program starts to close then the entire computer freezes and I have to shut down with the On/Off switch on the tower. Any ideas? Thanks.

Before you get too far into Slideshow Assistant .. drop it and recreate the project in Videowave. It offers many more features aand more flexibility.
