Video Error when trying to capture with ADAPTEC PCI AVC-2010 card

I have an ADEPTEC PCI Capture Card number AVC-2010 with the most up-to-date driver available. I just installed EMC 10 (after removing EMC 9) and now my video capture does not work. I get only a Video Error window with an OK in it, over and over. Any ideas?

Work through the FAQ's first.

 

In a pinch, you can install V9 or just those portions that you want using a custom install.

 

Let us know how you make out.

Thanks for the information. The card worked just fine with Version 9, and all those before. In fact, I was in the middle of a very big video project and going to EMC 10 just put the brakes on it! Now when I try to use Windows Movie Maker, I get a message saying that something else has control of the card (and of course, as one might expect, nothing else is active). Interestingly enough, it was SONIC Software that originally came with the card.... which is why I bought the card in the first place... just to assure compatibility. (I've been using EMC since Version 4..... so quite a long time. So.... still stuck here.

It would appear that the card requires customized software to work. Did it work with V9 or were you using the software that Adaptec included?

 

Does it work with Windows Movie Maker?
