Convert OLD Videwave Productions to EMC10

glowblue

Question

Hi...curious if anyone has a suggestion on this. I have an old version of Roxio Videwave Movie Creator (version 1.6.xxxx) that came with an old Dell desktop I bought in early 2003. I have several productions from that version that I'd like to convert and upgrade to EMC10.

The old productions have a file extension of ' *.cmp 'and I can seem to find any way to convert them for use with EMC10 software.

Any suggestions?

Does that old program have Disc Copier? You could burn the old projects to a DVD use a re-writeable one, then open disc copier and copy the project to your hard drive as an avi or mpg2 format, then you can put it in the v10 videowave and do any editing you might want to do, then open it up in the DVD burning program and make the menu etc. So, the above post is correct you can not just put the unburned project into v10. That is if I am understanding everything correctly. Correct me if I am wrong Walt.

My understanding of the posters question: he wants to take a EMC 7/7.5 project file (dmsm extension) and open it with EMC 10. That will not work. He can of course use EMC 7/7.5 and output the project to an avi or mpeg file and then load that video file into EMC 10. He cannot of course do any editing of transitions, text, etc. in that case.

I realized that, just thought I would throw that in just for informational reasons, and in case, for whatever reason, he wanted to go that route. Thanks................. ;)

Cannot be done :( You will have to redo all the old projects.
