Yahoo/Google 100Mb Sizing Limit

Sharks

Question

Since Yahoo/Google have a 100Mb size limit I have been creating videos and outputting them in Windows Media files. I then import them to Windows Movie Maker as WMM gives you the option to select an output size limit of 100Mb.

I have not been able to find a way to limit the size to 100Mb in VideoWave (all kinds of formats to output it, but no size limit) ... any ideas?

Your right, you can play with the formats to find a size (output as).

cd

Yes, I can "find a size", but how do I limit it to 100Mb?

Output As only lets you pick a format ... how do you tell it to limit the size in a particular format?

You CAN'T, the different formats have quality and size differences. You will have to output to some to find out.

THERE ARE NO OPTIONS within EMC 10 that limits video to file size.

There are MANY things can can affect the final output file size: resolution, video bitrate, audio compression type and bitrate and of course, the type of compression chosen. THE NUMBER ONE thing that will affect file size is the length of the video. I have found that one would be lucky to get around 8 minutes of video at a quality that is viewable online within the 100MB limit.

For some of the online video services, you have smaller choices. Some use MPEG4. Others may use Flash. While others may use Quicktime. They might even accept a wider selection and then convert it for you. So the first thing you need to find out is what FORMAT does Yahoo/Google require and then work within those limits.

Thanks guys. I thought that I there may have been a pick that I missed or didn't see. I guess I will have to settle for the way I am currently doing it ... in Movie Maker they give you a choice of 3 ways to save the output (one of which it to limit the output size). Would be nice to have that feater on EMC10, but it sure does a number on the quality if drop by a factor of 3 or more. Thanks again guys.
