Capture Video not wo0rking

Question

Hi,

I have my cable TV cable going directly into my Windows Media center computer. I have an Angel tuner. I can see live TV and capture live TV (or any video) directly through Media center with no problem. But when I turn on EAsy Media Creator 10 and try to capture video there is only a blank preview screen. Is my Media Center setup interfering with Easy Media Creator?

It may be hard to tell what the cause is but EMC is not 100% compatible with every tuner. I'm not able to use EMC10 (in Vista) to capture tv with my card but can in v9. However, switching to XP, I'm not able to use v9 but can use v10. You don't say what OS you are using but I've not had a problem with Windows Media Center at all.

I tried to find a list of compatible cards but so far, have not found it yet. If I do, I'll post it. In the meantime, I think it's hit or miss but having the latest drivers for your card wouldn't hurt.

First drivers are important as suggested. Make sure you have slected the 'tuner' in the list above the preview and a channel that has something on it.

If it still doesn't work, Videowave and MyDVD both will accept dvr-ms Media Center recordings. They will ask to convert the dvr-ms files before adding to a project.
