Error while attempting to write to the database

Clicking Tools > Check for Updates launches the Software Manager and after a while, returns, saying that there are no updates. But when I click Finish, I get the message:

Error while attempting to write to the database.

A little digging reveals that this may be a mis-configuration of InstallShield. Anyone else get this?

Well, I got rid of the above problem by completely uninstalling and reinstalling Easy Media Creator 10 (I had other issues, the above error wasn't the only reason I reinstalled).

 

The first update error is gone, but now I get something different:

Download Failed

Either you are not connected to the Internet or theFLEXnet Connect servers are currently unavailable.

I realize this isn't a big deal as Roxio isn't known for frequent updates (or any, for that matter ). FWIW, the version I have installed is:

Easy Media Creator 10 Suite

Version: 1.0.044

Build: 100B44D, R03

Hi, have just installed EMC10 and I get exactly the same error.

 

Anyone know how to fix this and how I can check if the update manager is actually working?

There are no updates that I know of at this time. Usually, the program will automatically check for updates at Startup ( Tools\ Options\ General tab)
