sixstring
Went through the whole nightmare after upgrading from 2000 prof to XP prof. First - blue screen of death Second - PC wouldn't recognize DVD RW or CD ROM drives Third - Roxio would'nt see my recordable DVD RW drive Finally, after hours of patches and registry edits and reboots, I am ready to burn a freakin CD RW to move some media. I open Classic and I begin the burn process and it errors out immediately after reading the first song and asks me if I wish to send the error out. I tried multiple CDs out of the new pack and got same error. So, I tried to work around it and burn an image of the project and then use Disc copier. It burned about 70% of the disc and then gave me an error "Write error [03/0c/00] Any help out there is greatly appreciated.
james_hardin
If you are actually using CD-RW media, take a blank one and use Windows Explorer to Copy/Paste files to it. This is to test the burner using XP Burning. An alternative, for a Music CD, would be to use to use Windows Media Player. In the 3 posts you made you have supplied almost No information that would help. All you have done is mention one symptom and ask for a cure. Then when that fails, you post another. This is not troubleshooting but more like grasping for straws… You are also putting a lot of effort into a program that has been out of production for years and is fully 5 versions behind the current product. K, Let me try again. Not sure what other 3 posts you are referring too. I posted a request to find one of the patches and that's it. As for the trouble shooting, I tried to keep this brief to simplify things since there are numerous posts referring to the first three errors. 1st - Blue screen of death relating to cdr4_xp.sys "DRIVER UNLOADED WITHOUT CANCELLING PENDING OPERATIONS".- I reviewed the posts and followed the recommendations for fixing this. Uninstalled Roxio and then reinstalled. I ran updatecdr4_53_71.exe immediately after reloading Roxio. This got rid of this error. 2nd - Computer would not then see my DVD RW or CD ROM. Again, I reviewed the threads and edited the registry to remove the filters. Rebooted and system would now see the drives. 3rd - Roxio would not recognize a recordable drive. Again, I review the threads and ran du20041203 and pxengine3_00_58a. Rebooted and Roxio would now recognize a recordable drive. 4th - Went to burn WMA files to CD RW as a music CD and it errored out as I mentioned. 5th - copied wma files successfully onto CD RW using windows explorer. 6th - Tried to use Windows media player to burn wma files onto CD RW. Attempt failed.. I recognize the product is older. When it worked, it served my needs.
