codester
Hi, I am wondering what the best disc format I should use. I am planning on making some video DVDs for people to watch in their DVD players (as well as in their computer so they can download/print pictures). If I'm not mistaken, is DVD-R the format that is more compatible with DVD players, especially older ones? Most newer players seem to accept both kinds. I guess I have always used DVD-R for video DVDs and DVD+R for data DVDs. Is this they way to go or not? Are there any advantages/disadvantages between the two? Thanks for any help!! cdanteek
IMO it's more a question of the brand/quality of the media, more than the -R or +R. What is the drive ID string you will be using and what software for burning, version #? cd
REDWAGON
My suggestion is stick with "TDK"--"Verbatim"--or "Taiyo Yuden" and as cd suggested I wouldn't worry about if it's plus or minus R, unless you just happen to have a friend or someone with a DVD player that won't play anything other than minur R.
