Using AVI clips on Roxio MyDVD(Suite) when DVX6.6 has been loaded in the system

My system is: Dell xps400, windows XP, Media Edition, my nvidia video card has the latest updates on it.

I have been using Roxio Media Creator 9 successfully since November 2006. It has worked alongside DVX media player without conflict.

I downloaded the new version of DVX player 6.6 and the following things happened when using MyDVD in Suite9:

1/ I was able to create projects and burn dvd's using all compatible file types, e.g., wmv, mp4 EXCEPT AVI.

2/ I tried taking all non-roxio options off sysconfig but the same result was obtained, all files could be added to a project except .AVI

3/ I uninstalled DVX completely: all AVI files would then play as sound files, not video clips.

4/ I reinstalled DVX, everything else is back to normal EXCEPT, I cannot add AVI files when setting up projects in Roxio.

Obviously, I can burn AVI on DVX however, not all dvd players accept DVX discs, I don't have the programming necessary in DVX to edit, insert chapter breaks, etc. I have on Roxio.

Can anybody help?

Thank you,

Ignacio
