How to get track info onto audio cd (disc-at-once?)

Jabba2000

Question

I am trying to get audio track and album info onto an audio cd. I've read the help and it tells me to enable CD-TEXT (did it) and burn the disc in Disc-at-Once mode. I cannot find how to do the latter in version 9. I have found that option in Version 5 ages ago. I am assuming this is why I'm not getting my track info on my cd (it says Unknown Artist, Unknown Title, etc... in Windows Media Player).

How to I set Disc-at-once in Music Disc Creator 9 ?

or if that is not my problem, how do i get the track/artist info on my audio disc?

thanks

I guess I should answer my own question, which has two parts.

1. To enable disc-at-once, you have to start by running the stupid "Roxio Creator Home" shell, from there pick Tools>Options>DATA then you can choose Disc-at-once, then you can go back to Applications and pick Music Disc Creator.

1a. After finding this and trying it, I see that the Disk and Device Utility does say Audio Disc with CD-TEXT. Then I went back to Track-at-once mode and burned another disc, and surprise surprise it also said "with CD-TEXT."

2. Then I discover Windows Media Player 11 doesn't display CD-TEXT track/album info at all...

Actually, in EMC 9's Music Disc Creator, you can't write an Audio CD in anything other than Disc-At-Once mode. The obtuse phrasing being used now is, "Read Only Disc". When you go to burn an Audio CD in Music Disc Creator, you'll see a grayed-out checkbox that you can't un-check. So, Music Disc Creator always writes discs in DAO mode, not TAO mode. The option to write CD-Text is the default, as I recall. You don't need to go into the Home application and select anything under the "Data" option.

The key, as you noticed, is that Windows Media Player doesn't support reading/displaying CD-Text information.
