Adding data from an appendable disc

bullhead001

Question

I am trying to add data to a write only disc in creator classic. The icon that is supposed to hi lite so I can click on it to add the data on the disc to my project isn't working. What am I missing? I know the disc is write only, and that my computer is seeing it. I have tried on 2 machines, so assume I am doing something wrong. Thanks

First, it's always helpful to be sure you have the latest firmware for your drive. Then, in the 'Burn' box, click the + next to Burn Options and make sure the Read Only box is unchecked. If the disc you are using is full or finalized, you won't be able to append to it.

What do you mean by a "write only disc"? or did you mean "read only"? Obviously a "write only" disc can never be read

I mean write only as in the disc is not finalized as a read only disc. Write only is the burn option.

the disc isn't full or finalized. I also don't have the read only checked in the burn option. I should be able to click the icon before I ever get to the burn option, while I am adding material for the disc.

Yes, you should be able to but why you can't, I don't know. What about your firmware, have you made sure it's updated?

Write Only, has absolutely nothing to do with it! The 3 choices are

  • Test Only
  • Test and Write
  • Write Only
None of these have anything to do with an appendable disc…

You must set the Burn Option to Read Only for the first burn as well as every burn after that. If you don't do that, all discs will be Read Only.

Look at Help – Contents – Adding more data.
