CD Labels Print on Wrong Edge of Paper.

Madison2

Question

I recently purchased EMC10 after previously having EMC7. After installation of EMC10, my CD labels are now printing on the wrong edge of the paper and I am using the same HP printer now as before. I have been unsuccessful in locating any options on my HP printer that would reverse the printed CD edge. Nor can I see a solution in Roxio. Apparently, I have missed something. Also, it appears that even if I were to have the labels to print correctly, EMC10 only prints 1 label at a time now, whereas, EMC7 would print the 2 labels on the same sheet. Main issue I have is HOW CAN I GET MY ROXIO LABELS TO PRINT ON THE CORRECT EDGE OF THE PAGE. I chatted with my HP rep and he said my problem was my application. Unfortunately, I am not that great with solving these sort of problems on a computer. I'm so frustrated that I'm tempted to go out and purchase a different brand printer to see if a different one would print the labels on the opposite edge of the paper! Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Which of the label printing applications are you using - there are a couple. What commercial paper are you using?

I'm not trying to make a joke but did you try to put the paper in with the other end first? Try that with plain paper and then see how close it matches up.

If you are using Label Creator, you have to select to make a page with two copies.

Thank you for responding. I have been trying to use Roxio EMC 10 on Memorex paper, which paper I have been using for a very long time with Roxio EMC 7 with no problems. Memorex labels are not vertical as with Avery. Memorex labels are placed on the paper diagonal. And yes, I have tried switching the paper around with the same unsuccessful results. A good suggestion though. I am a ballroom dance instructor and my priority is being able to work with my music as needed and label them properly. To add some history, I have just purchased Roxio EMC 10 primarily for MP3 conversion assistance, which is another story.

As mentioned earlier, I used Roxio EMC 7 previoiusly and the labels printed with no problem and with the same HP printer. But the application has evidently changed in EMC 10. I think I have discovered that my problem is the Roxio EMC 10 application, not my printer. I went to Memorex.com and downloaded their free label program which was called exPressit. I used exPressit ages ago and reverted to Roxio instead because exPressit seemed more trouble than it was worth. But as an experiment, I went ahead and made a fake label with the exPressit just to see if it would print the labels in the correct place. And it did. At another member's suggestion, I downloaded the free Avery labels but haven't had a chance to work with them as yet. I guess the reason I have been trying so hard to make the Roxio EMC 10 labels work is because I have been using EMC 7 for so long and have a TON of the Memorex labels which are placed diagnonal rather than vertical. I hate to just chuck them since labels are so expensive. If all else fails, I will have to purchase the Avery vertical labels and change over to Avery.

Any other suggestions, sknis, before I invest in a whole set of new Avery labels?? Thanks.

I've seen a lot of posts by people who say they are running EMC 7 and EMC 10 concurrently ... perhaps reinstall that component of EMC 7 ... ? Others may have a better idea how.

Thank you Lynn. I had thought about that and unless someone comes up with a better solution, that will be my next step. Good idea. Sure seems that EMC 10 is not at all user friendly, at least with the making of CD labels. You cannot be computer-illiterate to figure that one. Since my last post, I've been working with the Avery program and it seems to be more user friendly. Only thing is that I will have to re-invest in new labels since their placement of labels are vertical whereas the ones I have are diagnonal. Right now, where I live (Hoodsport, WA), I am knee deep in snow and will be a couple days before I can dig my way out to go to town to purchase new labels :)

I thought the rain was supposed to wash off all hte lowland snow - in my area of Seattle I never did see snow.

Lynn

Edit, from KING weather

areas of snow-mainly on inland hills; ranging from an inch in parts of Everett and Sammamish to 7-1/2 inches in Hoodsport. Where that precipitation fell as rain, it was soggy; 0.50" at SEATAC,

Wow, and maybe more tomorrow ...
