error 80040273

deddlebug

Question

I have made a slide show with music in Movie Maker and saved it as DV-AVI(NTSC). I have gotten as far as Encoding and it shows 100% complete but with the error 80040273. What is the error? I have XP Home 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2; processor: AMD Athlon XXP 3200+2.199 GHz. Lite-ON DVDRW SOHW-832S version 5.1.2600.2180. Video Card VIA/S3G UniChrome IGP 6.14.10.194.

Also, I was under the impression that I would be able to do more than movie maker when making my slide shows and believe that I have purchased the Roxio EMCSuitev10 when I didn't need it. I was told I needed a MyDVD to finish creating my DVD from movie maker. I have Adobe CS2 with Adobe bridge, so I would never use what 10 has in organization. Can I get a refund and get something that would fit my needs. DVDit or My DVD9, would either of these be more to what I need.

We don't know what your needs are, but if you want to request a refund, you need to contact Roxio directly. Click on the Support text, above right of this screen.

Doing a search of the forums, it appears to be due to a problem with the video card or chip. You haven't said which program in the Roxio suite you used to burn. You haven't actually said that you used the Roxio software to burn, but you have a video chip on your motherboard. Try to find updated drivers for it. You might possibly get lucky and be able to burn, using the software.

If you use MyDVD, click on Tools/Options, then click on Software, to the left of Render. Try burning it that way.

BTW. you don't need to use Windows Movie Maker to build your production. You can build your production in VideoWave, then burn your production in MyDVD.

One more BTW. This is a users forum, not Roxio Tech Support. We are all users of the software, like you. Once in awhile a Roxio person will drop in and post. You will be able to tell who they are. They have a Roxio logo by their name.

Thank you. I have tried contacting support on line with no success. Thought maybe this was the way to go. I guess I'll have to call them.

Again, Thank you.

I am only looking for a refund if I can not get EMC 10 to work. I thought maybe another type would work better with my system. I just want to burn a DVD with the project I made in Movie Maker (saved as AVI) and was told that EMC10 would do the trick with what I have. Just wanting to make sure I wasn't lead astray.

Anyway, I am back to square one with my problem with one additional step backwards. Having upgraded my integrated graphic drivers, I have tried what support suggested; go to Mydvd in EMC 10 and create an ISO image, but now I am not able to even open MyDVD for it tells me that there is insufficient graphics capabilities for the application to run. So, now I am unable to go as far as I once did. I have contact through support and hopefully we will get this resolved.

The best resolution would be to get a stand alone video card. You can find decent ones for $100 or less, depending on what type your computer will take.

How would I know or find out which one to get? I guess I ask the guys who directed me to by Creator 10. Thank you for your help.
