The video was not imported correctly. Verify that the tape is not blank

Question

I have spent about 2 whole days of my life trying to get 39 minutes of video from my JVC GR-93U Mini DV camera burnt to a DVD. I have even spent $1100 on a new computer. I keep getting an error message "The video was not imported correctly. Verify that the digital video tape is not blank, and then try again."

I was even of the phone with Dell tech.

What could be the problem?

IMHO this software sucks!!

Can I use a Windows Media Creator software to do this simple project?

I am firmly convinced that it is not the ROXIO Software nor AVI but the JVC Camera that has some unique recording method. I too have spent considerable time and have tried the software that came with the camera, trial software from the company that provided the software to the camera and other software. I have experienced the same frustration level and have tried various suggestions from this forum.

I can download the files from the camera and play them using Windows Media Viwer. This project has become a mountain when it should have been easy. I am certain that it is JVC.
