Video In Text

karri

Question

Here is one method to put video inside text in your VideoWave productions.

Sample: Text In Video

In PhotoSuite, add an image to your canvas, then add your text on top of the image. Choose a bright green color for your text (Unless you have green in your image, then use a bright blue, or another color that is not in your image.) Either way, add an outline to your text (I used yellow).

Save your image in the dmsp file format.

Open VideoWave and insert any color color panel to the main track.

Add the video you want to show through to the first overlay track.

Add the image you created in PhotoSuite to the second overlay track. and apply the chroma key to the green color in your text. (Select Chroma Key for the overlay in the settings panel, use the dropper tool to pick the green color. If you have the choice of more than one color, just uncheck those. The green should disappear.)

Adjust the video on the second overlay track to where you think it works the best behind the text. (For the fireworks in the clip I posted, I dragged it about halfway down the screen.)

Note: To save a step or to free up an overlay track, you can add the video clip to the main track and then add your image with the text to the first overlay track. The color panel is not needed, but just allows you to add the video clip to an overlay track, where you can further manipulate it, if needed.
