How do you loop multi songs to fit MyDVD9 slideshow

Damiansnpvp

Question

Hello, I just went through support, but still confused & after hours of frustration, I'm not able to accomplish this task.

In MyDVD9 slideshow, I'm able to select audio (song) & select loop inorder to keep music going through the entire long slideshow. Now, when I select two songs & loop it, it does not loop, so halfway through the slideshow there is no music. I can not seem to add a third song without getting errors & by not selecting loop I'm still having the same problem. Has anyone tried & tested these features? All I want to do is have multi songs, atleast two & have it either fill the entire slideshow or loop. Can anyone help me? Please, please, please.

Thanks,

JD

Good morning. The solution depends on what Roxio program you have. Do you have a version of My DVD (stand alone) or do you have EMC 9. Assuming that you have EMC 9, open Sound Editor and add the three pieces of music, export them as one mix. Add that mix to the Slide Show.

Now the "should've". In the future, use Video Wave to create your project. You can add the music tracks to more than one audio track so that the transition from one music piece to another is seamless. There is just more control over the entire project in Video Wave. my DVD is best used for creating the menus to navigate your DVD. :)

If you have the stand alone My DVD, you should get an editor similar to Video Wave.

I don't quite follow what you are trying to do. Are you trying to loop multiple songs? When you think about it that is not really possible. Suppose you have added 3 songs to the music track. You cannot loop song 1 since then song 2 would never get played; same for song 2. Only song 3 can be looped.

I have no problems adding multiple songs to the music track. Perhaps if you explained exactly what you are doing some one can offer some help. Also what error messages are you getting.

You might get much better results if you used Videowave to create the slideshow. Most of the wizards such as "myDVD Slideshow" have limited capabilities.

Thank you for the quick reply backs from the previous post "Sknis" & this one "Myguggi"

Ok, I just did some test, because something just wasn't right. I found that if you select enough songs, it will play the entire slideshow & too many songs are ok, the extra won't play. What was messing up was if you select the same song twice, you get an error can't remember exactly, but to the fashion you can't do it. If you change the name of the song, it will let you get through, but when you finalize it you get an error "Failed to analyze media file(s) one or more of the files you have selected may be unsupported or corrupt." So I found what the problem is, you can't duplicate a song, even if you rename it. Any thoughts on how to duplicate a song?

Thanks,

JD

There is no problem adding duplicate songs to a audio track one after the other. Could you explain in detail how you are adding the songs?

What I get is "unable to add audio track" Here is what I'm doing, first I click on Media Manager & then at the top toolbar My DVD Express, New SlideShow, Add Photos, Add Background Audio, Add Audio Track. Now this works fine & if I add audio track again of a different song, still ok & another song, still ok, but if I select add audio track & add the same song, then I get a message "unable to add audio track" I know that you should be able to add the same song over & over, but it does not work, have you actually tried this? I tried this a dozen times with different songs, just to make sure & no secess. One song & loop it, no problems. Two songs or more, (no loop of course) no problems. Now, anytime I have the same song twice, that's where I get the error message "unable to add audio track" Try this, you don't have to select pictures, go to add background audio, add audio track & select a song of yours, then again add audio track & select the same song, you will get an error "unable to add audio track" How do you get around this?

Thanks,

JD

Stay away from myDVD Express for anything! I used it once and dropped it and have never used it since. It has very limited features and gives you very little control over your production.

Videowave is the program you should be using to assemble your slideshow production and then use myDVD to create menus and burn you slideshow to a DVD.

Yes,

steve said the same use Videowave. Well, what can I say, I use Kodak's Easyshare for my photo's & they got together with Roxio MyDVD9 to play slideshow, so I clicked on the link & purchased MyDVD9. I know I'm using this program correctly, it's limited & has problems with same songs. I will have to try Videowave. Thanks for all the help.
