copying DVDs recorded from cable

eddy438

Question

I am going to record a program tonight on a DVD+R disk that at least two out-of-the-country people can't get and I think they want copies. I was thinking that I'd record it at SP. Assuming I'd add an extra program later on, would it have to be the same speed to copy all right in Toast 7.1.3? I'm not sure that Toast can cope with mixed speeds or odd speeds such as FR. (flexible recording which adjusts the speed to fit on the remainder of the recording.)

Thanks,

Ed

What is it that is doing the recording? How are you getting the recorded video into Toast?

I will use my Panasonic standalone DVD recorder which is connected in from the cable feed and out to the TV. When it's done recording everything I want on the disk, it has to be finalized or it won't be playable on the Mac G4.

Insert the finalized DVD in your Mac. Choose the Toast Copy window. The disc should appear in the window. Choose Save as Disc Image from the File menu. When that is done eject the disc and choose the disc image using the Image File setting in the Copy window. Now burn your DVD copies. You can tell Toast how many copies you want burned.
