Installation

Blazer

Question

I have recently purchased Roxio 10 and installed it on my computer (and new to this Forum!). Rightly or wrongly I chose to install the Complete , rather than the Typical or Custom Installation. I did take quite a time to install but appears to have installed O.K However since this time my computer start-up takes ages to get to where I can use my computer. My question is is this noraml or should I have chosen the Typical Install?

There are some applications in EMC 10 which hunt through your system and build a catalog or database of all the media files to form a "library" for you.

If you don't want this feature you can find and disable it (I did) but I'm told that it takes less time to run after you have the bulk of your media files cataloged.

Brendon

Question for Brendon: How do you disable this feature, I have the same issue?

Thanks for reply. Like other member I do not know how to to disable it. Do you think it would be better for me to uninstall the programme and reinstall it using the Typlical install?

There should be an icon in your system tray for the Media Manager "Watched Folders". Or open Media Manager and go to Tools -> Select Watched Folders. Should be a "Stop" button in the upper right of the window. Click on it to stop the folder watching cataloging. Then select the Clear All button to de-select all folders to be watched (cataloged).
