Selecting Avery Labels

hprar

Question

:) Maybe I'm having a bad day, but I have just installed the new EMC 8 and now I cannot select Averly labels to print to. I have gone under the Commercial Paper in the page set up, but it just gives 5 weird choices. I have seen the Avery Page files so I know they are there, but how do I get to them??? HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have two guesses 1) the display is not set for 96 dpi or 2) You have not recently updated your video card/drivers. Once you have done this, you should see the Avery labels. What you are seeing is the label list but cut off (width). Do both fixes and post back. Without you giving us more information, I'm guessing that you have a desktop.

To enjoy all the features of V8, the screen resolution should be 1280 by 1024. Less will work fine also but you will not be able to dock some features.

Everything works at the 1024 by 768 resolution.

At the higher resolution for example, in VideoWave, you can "dock" the Effects Selector. This is simply a convenience for those that use it a lot. Of course, you can always just click on effects and get that window to pop up.

Steve,just wondering what might not work at lower resolutions,say 1024 x 768

I'm sorry, it's a new laptop (purchased in Dec.) The resolution is set at 1280 X 1024. All drivers are updated. This is what I see under commercial paper.

APLI Ref. 2899 Discs (A4)

This is there 5 other times with different Ref. numbers.

Any help anyone could give me would be great!

Could the additional labels be part of what is on the content disc?Do you have it and have you installed it?I'm not sure why you wouldn't see other things.

Also what version do you have,Essentials,Suite or Deluxe Suite?

How about the dpi?. There was a problem with this during the beta. There is a slider bar to the right of the list of paper you see. Sometimes it did not show up so people could see it but it was there.

Just to check, what version do you have? Open VideoWave and select about. Read the version from there. It should be 805. Did you install the update to the 805 from the 800. The version on the home page is the version of the home page and not the build for the entire suite.

I will search and rack my mind to try to remember the "fix" :) perhaps someone else remembers and will post.

One more question. Are you using Express Labeler or Label Creator/ You may want to try both to see if you can see the different commercial paper selections. Both have the down arror to the right of the current selection.

This is interesting about the dpi & glitches during the beta. I have 8.05, and my monitor is 1280x1024. The sliders for the selection boxes only partially appear -- it's like the actual slider-part, just the little rectangle you click on to slide, is floating out beside the selection box. It's very hard to see.

That said, as I posted separately, I also have only weird sizes to choose from. Lots of "APLI" ones that are all A4, almost all the Avery ones are A4, and a lot of others are Japan.

I'd really like to know what's going on with all this. First, where are the standard U.S. sizes & labels, and second, are these display bugs being addressed at all?
