Guest videoKid
Thank you for trying and posting your findings. I see your attachment as an image. This is the thread I was looking at that triggered my posting (I should stop posting in this thread after this one as I have ongoing discussion in another thread with grandpabruce). I see the attachments of jeanrosenfeld and myguggi to be downloadable files. They used to be posted as actual images, rather than downloadable files. Am I othe only one seeing that? Do I have to tweak some settings somewhere? I am currently using Firefox.
Guest videoKid
As per your suggestion (cdanteek's), here is the link you provided. I'll check after writing this post if it is being shown as an image or as downloadable file.

Guest videoKid
Thanks Bruce. Per cd, downloadable file is the way the Roxio server is handling the guru's images. And I can confirm that by checking out some gurus' posts with attachments.
sknis
Really, worked for me yesterday. Lets try her today and see... cd I'm not sure that is a small image or not since it is linked to some web site. For those that have the ability to post images (please no comments), if the person posts a larger image, the new boards post a low rez version of it. You have to click the white text on the black line of text to see the full high rez image. For some, they see regular link to the image but that link doesn't work. I'm not sure if it because of member/guest or FF/IE6/IE7?other that causes it. Basically it stinks. If I post something, I already size it and reduce the resolution to load and show quickly. lynn98109
I see them as embedded pictures on both FF 2 and IE 6. The only difference is the tendancy of Roxio to crash my IE 6 taking out all open windows ... I'm tending toward FF for Roxio ... Lynn
Beerman
The very first day that forums changed, I attached a image and I could only see it as a downloadable file. Later in the day, it was no longer a downloadable file but an embedded image (it was a small image that did not need res changing). Ever since then (when the forum works!), all the images I've posted have now been embedded and not a link.

Lynn Whether images are "embedded" or "downloadable" seems to be a fuction of the image size. All the images in this thread appear embedded since they are small. bimicher
Walt, lets test your theory! W 17.36inches H 10.90inches size 2.5mb cd Theory holds up - large image reduced, small image embedded. When your reply first appeared, the image appeared embedded for a second and then reduced in size In reply, large image is embedded

lynn98109
But 2.5MB still takes 10 minutes to download - no reduction until AFTER it's down. Idiotic. If it's going to be resized, it should be before the download. Lynn
Guest videoKid
Walt, lets test your theory! W 17.36inches H 10.90inches size 2.5mb cd When reading your post, the image is reduced and has a black bar on top. It says "Reduced: 38% of original size [ 1667 x 1046 ] - Click to view full image". But if I am in the editor to reply to the post, the full image is shown. Anyway, it appears that gurus can see their attachment as images, and other members can see them as downloadable files. Beerman
This one from cdanteek. Does it appear as full image or as reduced image? It is embedded or a download file? I see it as embedded 38% of original size. In replies, do you not see the full image? If not, I'm enclosing a screen cap of what I see. For the record, I see both pictures embedded at 38% of the actual size.

I see the reduction Paul, same as you but I wonder if the dotted lines around the original (top) photo is the size that would have been the origional size had it not been reduced ?
