Recording with Spin Doctor

RollingT

Question

I am using T8T, v8.0.3, on an iMac with Leopard. I am trying to follow the procedure Mathew Honan discussed in his article "Digitize your cassettes and LPs" in the Feb. issue of MacWorld. I have been successful in recording sequential songs from an LP and auto separating them into different tracks. I would like to pick songs off the record that are not adjacent but it seems I have to finish one track at a time, re-starting Spin Doctor for each piece. Is there some way record another track after stopping the recording on the first track?

Well I'm embarrassed. Should have seen that. Thanks for the help. In the same article Hanon says to adjust the filters for surface noise while playing the track in Spin Doctor. So far I haven't figured out how to play a track in Spin Doctor. If I select a track, right click on play, nothing happens. Same goes for using the space bar. Am I being really dense again?

Yes, it appears I am. Looks like I have to also click on the speaker icon. So that problem seems to be solved.

Use pause instead of stop at the end of each song you record. That way they will remain in the same file.

Also, you don't need to have the tracks in a certain order in Spin Doctor. After you mark the tracks in Spin Doctor and export them to Toast, iTunes or the Finder you can re-order them.
