used auto-detect scenes feature

ilana

Question

in the media selector, i used the auto detect scenes feature of my imported mini dv video. the program detected 47 scenes -- when in reality there are about 15-20 scenes in the entire video. how do i combine scenes/clips? i only can see how to split scenes.

thanks!

thanks so much for telling me about this program. what a life saver! i think roxio should consider buying this code from petr, the developer. wanting the date stamped on a video clip seems like a pretty basic thing that most users would want. or, maybe not and it's just how i'm thinking. either way... thanks much. i captured my first tape and at first glance all seems to have worked out okay. will be using in videowave soon.

Just right click delete any of the scenes you don't want (you can't delete the frst one). Deleting a scene does not delete anything from the movie itself, it just removes the corresponding marker, so the bit of the movie starting at the deleted scene just gets added to the bit of the previous scene.

You could try to set the sensitivity to less than the default, and try again. Or, you can bring in the entire video and split where you want to.

I use a small utility (free) called WinDV to capture scenes from my DV camcorder (tape) based on the timestamp on the tape. Each scene is saved as a individual file and can be loaded into Videowave as a separate video clip.
