Convert LPs and Tapes Track Detection

jafpirate

Question

I'm capturing an album and using the track detection feature and it never detects correctly (consistently bad :) ). I have an Audigy 2 ZS card running on XP. All drivers are updated. I tried w/ and w/o "Silence May Contain Noise" mode. In one case the detected tracks are in the midst of obvious music (but right after the song starts) and all other cases are near the silence point but detected wrong. Any ideas? thx

I've seen that before but thankfully for an LP or cassette, there aren't very many pieces of music to move the cuts points or to do it manually. By the way work from the first piece of music to the last or you may have to keep shifting the cuts around if you do any trimming.

I think it is caused by a computer time lag from the time the program detects the silence to the point where the cut mark is placed. It seems like having a clean and defragged hard drive and no other programs running during the capture help a little. I have not yet (and probably won't) play around with audio acceleration settings.

Life's little aggravations.
