No video with AVI files after back-up, only audio

Harleyhead

Question

:ninja: I have Easy Media Creator 10 and had to backup my hard disk and re-partition it.

I backed up the "Documents and Settings" files including my .avi movie clips and they made the restore to the newly re-partitioned drive (in Windows XP) but the video portion of the files won't play! All I gt is the audio (both in EM10 and Windows media player).

Anyone have any ideas on how to correct this?

Download Gspot and import your files into it and it will tell you what you need to play them and what you have on your system that should play them. If it shows any missing, you'll have to download the proper codecs depending on exactly what type of avi files these are (divx, xvid etc.).

Thanks. I did that on my own and it did work.

Now on to the next problem!

Suddenly, RCPCORE.msi file is missing. When I try to start Creator 10 it says "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable." I can't find the file anywhere. I've uninstalled and re-installed the program and it still persists.

Cheers,

Darry
