DVD burning for slideshow

Ella

Question

I have Windows XP, Creator 10. I had 7.5 and was told to update it to 10 and my issues with being able to burn a DVD would go away. Well, they didn't I have tried several different brands of DVD discs, RW, R, in Maxell, Imation, etc. The program does not seem to recognize that I have put a disc in - keeps saying drive is empty. You talk about Firmware - latest and greatest. What is firmware, how do I know what I have and what I need? I spent a lot for this program, which was supposed to be easy. - so far it has not been. Can you help? Ella

Ella, firmware is what helps to device to work. It allows your burner to work with software so that your burner can do things such as burn discs, lightscribe, etc. Firmware updates are the additional information that your device can use to work with new software or new disks. It's usually a good idea, IMO, to update as they come out, especially if your drive is older.

However, you may have other problems.

You may want to give this update a try.

I don't know who would have told you that. If you were having problems with EMC 7.5, and you didn't fix that situation, there is no way that you should have upgraded to a program that taxes your computer even more than EMC 7.5

List your system specs, similar to how I have mine listed in my signature.
