I answered this in your other thread as well but yes you can but it's usually 'cleaner' if you follow those links as the control panel uninstall won't get all the bit's and pieces that the clean install will.

Thanks....I appreciate your patients and your reply.

Hello :)

I just purchaqsed EMC suite 10 and want to install on a new Dell xps laqptop (vista). Do I need to uninstall ver 9DEa that came with the laptop or can I install 'on top' of it.

Thank You,

Don

While you don't have to remove it, I suggest you do. The version you have (OEM) is not a full version anyway and once 10 is installed, you'll like not need any part of 9.

I suggest a clean install--see these pages for info for your OS.

VistaClean Install

XP Clean Install

Thanks, Paul.... I have never used/upgraded the oem version... Can't I simply uninstall using the program in control panel, then install EMC 10?

Thanks,

Don
