Label Creator Lightscribe Black Preview

OK so I have seen this a few times on the forum but not using EMC10. I have an HP nc4010 Laptop with an external LITEON DVDRW drive. Whenever I attempt to print from Lightscribe I get a black preview, and if I print it just prints all black. So I saw others that said uninstall IE7 which I did and it did not fix the problem.

 

I also have another HP laptop which does not have the problem. Does anyone know of a fix for this yet? I am banging my head and yes I have tried uninstalling reinstalling, removing the folder, reg keys etc...

 

Any help would be appreciated.

Have you installed the most up to date lightscribe drivers. http://www.lightscribe.com/downloadSection/index.aspx

I have IE7 installed and don't have a problem. Do you have the same problem using the free lightscribe template labeler?

If you're getting an all black preview don't try and print as that's all the laser will print, and you'll waste the disc.

 

Try re-installing the lightscribe driver as something might have been corrupted?

I have the same problem with an HP740b, black circle and everything and I am not getting much help from Roxio support. I have reinstalled EMC 10. I have the new lightscribe drivers, and still a black circle. this was not a problem with Sonic, which came with my HP Pavillion. any other ideas?

When I do that, the whole disk is in black. Not a solution but I appreciate the input.

Yes I have tried removing and updating the Lightscribe driver, but will now try like you suggested the free lightscribe template loader. And will return and report...

No, that comes from LightScribe, and it has to be installed for any software to write to a LightScribe disc.

As GPB indicated, all Roxio can do is tell the printer (your drive) to print. It is the LightScribe drivers and firmware that make it happen, not Roxio.

I believe your problem is different. If you are trying from Label Creator, in EMC 10, don't use that LightScribe template. Use any other standard template, and edit it any way you want. Then select your LightScibe burner and print your label to it.
