DVD buffer underrun error Toast 7.1.3 Mac OS X Leopard

Question

I'm trying to burn a Video_TS file using Toast 7.1.3 on my Dual 2Ghz PowerMac G5 running OS X Leopard 10.5.1 with a Panasonic DVR-109 burner (stock standard Apple SuperDrive), but keep getting a buffer underrun error no matter how slow I set the burner to burn. The compression is medium (it's a 7.76 GB file) and the DVD I'm using burns under the Finder.

Until I upgraded to Leopard I had no problems. I started out burning with Toast 7.1.2, but I got an upgrade message and upgraded to the newest version, 7.1.3.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

It could be the brand of discs. Try it with a different brand of media. Also, choose Save as Disc Image from the File menu instead of clicking the burn button. When the disc image is finished choose it with the Image File setting in the Copy window and select Save as Disc Image again. This time Toast will ask if you want it to fit a single- or dual-layer disc. After choosing single-layer Toast will do the fit-to-DVD compression. When that's done select this disc image using the Image File setting and burn your DVD. Sometimes it helps to burn from disc images and sometimes it helps to have the compression done as a separate step. Give it a try to see if this makes any difference.
