I have a philips D1208 DVD burner. When using a DVD +R disc (and i've tried two different manufacturers versions) in my DVD the programme reads the discs as having a capacity of 4.4 GB instead of 4.7. When I try and burn a disc the process comes up with an error message "insert valid media" and literally ejects the disc from the drive. If I manually select a disc size if 1.8GB from the my DVD menu it lets me burn it, but I don't want to pay for DVD's to only be able to use half the capacity.
The firmware on the dvd burner is fully up to date. I've reloaded it anyway, still no joy. I've tried different makes of DVD makes no difference.
