EMC 10 Shuts Off Computer

Robert L A

Question

I have had 7.5 (worked fine), 9.0 had problems so updated to 10 Suite.

The FIRST time I run the product it seems to work fine to the end. After that all kinds of problems.

I have update Burner Firmware, Video Drivers, Defragged hadrdrive, ran Ccleaner for registry, installed the latest download of EMC 10.

I have found it wise to create Slide show and save them. Keeps from reruns.

I then bring them into myDVDExpress and take the slide show movie input and try to create a DVD. 20 -30% into encoding the computers shuts down. Many times it has done this. I am working a 100 picture show. The first time I put together 900 picture show and it went to end of job and burned a DVD. I have a friend on the same software having the same problem. I also have had problems with audio files that worked on previous

EMC 10 project and now only some of the files will not now have sound. (This is really weird after working once.)

I am on XP CPU is 3.2 mgh Pentium 4. 16x burner from LITEON.

When I installed EMC 10 Roxio support helped me clean everything off of the prior software. So I had a clean install. Again: It worked ONCE FINE, now it powers down computer. No other software does this to me. I  would love to love this EMC 10 and suggest it to others, but it is tough to to promote right now.

Help would be appreciated. I use this for business purposes.

 I updated my Accrois Backup Software and the problem resolved. The other program crossed wires with EMC 10. Thanks to all that made suggestions.

What happens to cause your PC to power down? Are you running the software for any length of time before it cuts out as it could be an overheating problem?

I have the exact problem. I did a clean format and installed Vista. I installed Deluxe 10, and everytime I run any component, the PC shuts down. For example I can add files to an audio CD, set all the parameters, but as soon as I hit "Burn", lights out. Did the same thing when I tried to run the update module. I installed Nero 8 and it works flawlessly.

I have cleaned my SERVICES & Startup Files and have stopped the Blowup. But now when it runs to the end of job and should burn DVD it fails even to turn on the light. I need to know what service or startup needs to be turned on to let the burn continue. I have burned an .ISO to disk but of course that did not help me get a good DVD for the TV - DVD Player. HELP.

Simply open Video Copy and Convert, under the Source drop down box, pick browse for....., browse to that .iso file, bring it in, and burn it to a DVD as a DVD compliant movie.

I am not running for very long. I monitor the memory usage and I had 300,000 yet to use. I don't believe it is overheating.
