Roxio 10 will not start

phl1rxd

Question

i installed roxio 10 several days ago - created a picture show with music and brought into mydvd, set is up all nice and pretty and could not burn due to the error file 80040207 everyone is getting who does not have the right graphics driver. i went to ATI and upgraded my radeon 2400 pro graphics driver to version 8. I was able to move a little forward and actually stopped getting link error messages. i have 46 minutes of work at 4.033 gigs and when i tried to burn to a dvd 4.75 gigs i had an issue with space so i removed some (a lot) of the panels and got down to 3.8 gigs. when i went back in to reburn i kept getting the same error - i burned to file and i am now getting the 80040207 errorr again like i had before i upgraded the ATI driver. i have brand new dell inspiron 530 cdcr e4600. so i removed roxio completely and reinstalled - now i cannot get the program to come up - any suggestions? ithis is very frustrating to say the least and it is moving into my football game time which really upsets me - help please this program is unbelievably difficult to run and manage without help

The error is not due to your video card, I don't think. That is a newer card. I would be more inclined that you have some problem with the menu that you created.

Also, file size is not what counts. The length of time is what matters. You can get 1 hour of video, on a standard DVD, at high quality.

BTW, did you uninstall your existing video card drivers, before installing the new ones. If not, that can sometimes cause a problem, and the best thing to do is uninstall the drivers that you just put in, reboot, and install the new ones again.

Yes I did and i followed the manufacturer's (ATI) instructions to a t - i also used windows uninstall and removed roxio and sonic (when i got my pc they already had version 9 and from the many many postings i see this has caused problems) using the directions on your site - this did nothing but bring up an alert from install shield that i now have another problem - i am really, really frustrated - any other suggestions besides my looking for another program?

First, I don't work for, nor own stock in Roxio, so this isn't my site. This is a users forum, and the folks who post here, are users just like you.

Did you build your production in VideoWave, or did you use the Assistant? There has been many posts from folks having problems with the Assistant. Use VideoWave, from the very beginning of your projects. Try a short one to see if it works.

I bought this new program last week. (suite 10) made a movie fine. Now the program will not open at all. I have suite 9 installed when i purchased this computer but it was a trail offer . Do I need to uninstall the suite 9,uninstall the suite 10, and reinstall the suite 10 again. Will i lose my projects?
