MacD
I purchased CD Spin Doctor 3.1 this morning and have problems with playback on Leopard. How can I update to 3.1.1?
MacD
It should be included in the latest Toast 7 update. I purchased CD SpinDoctor as a stand alone product from Roxio and the latest Toast update is not available. Any suggestions?
MacD
Well, thanks for the response. I purchased Spin Doctor last June so I'm outside the 30 day period. I was happy with the performance of the program until I installed 10.5. Now, as we all know, it won't work and Roxio has gone silent on when/if they intend to fix it. If you don't mind me asking, what program are you going to replace Spin Doctor with? rooscooter -- I'm not sure which program I'll use. I may upgrade to one of the Toast products thru this site now that I know there is a suitable return policy. MacWorld had a good article this month and they discussed a free software program that comes with iMic ($30.00). I'm not sure if you need to purchase iMic to download the free software: http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/imic The article stated that CD Spin Doctor was their favorite program. Good Luck. tsantee
I purchased CD SpinDoctor as a stand alone product from Roxio and the latest Toast update is not available. Any suggestions? I suggest contacting Roxio. If their customer service isn't responsive try private messaging patatrox or John at Roxio. I don't know what Roxio is doing about updating the stand alone version. MacD
From what I understand there is an update to Spin Doctor 3.1 that makes it compatible with X.5......the only problem is that it is part of the update for Toast 7 and requires a Toast 7 CD key to install. How hard can it be to separate it so the people that paid for Spin Doctor 3 without Toast can be updated? I agree rooscooter, how hard would it be to seperate it out or let the buyers know it is not compatible with Leopard. I opted to purchase this product over FinalVinyl based on the article in MacWorld. I was fortunate to have recently purchased this download direct from Roxio and they have issued a credit based on the terms and conditions that I render the product disabled. . . no longer a problem. rooscooter
So they issued you a refund for CD Spin Doctor. Did they offer the refund or did you ask for it? If they offered it I would assume that they aren't going to update the stand alone version and are going to offer refunds to customers that are using 10.5 who purchase the stand alone version of Spin Doctor. How did you get a hold of Roxio? I have been burning up the net with emails, PM's etc. trying to get a response........any response. I can't even get an acknowledgment of them receiving my questions. I know that Roxio isn't the developer of the application and they probably have limited control over the process, but they should be able to respond to paying customer's questions. At http://www.roxio.com/enu/company/contact.html I found this statement: Refund Questions Roxio has an unconditional 30-day money back guarantee for products purchased directly from Roxio through our online store or over the telephone with our Inside Sales department. Shipping charges will not be refunded. To request a refund, please call 1-800-656-5443 or go to www.findmyorder.com and login with your order details then click Return. *Note: The Return option will be removed after 30 days from the date of purchase. I was fortunate that I purchased online from Roxio within the last 30 days. Hope this helps.
rooscooter
I too have been waiting for an updated Spin Doctor 3.1. I bought a stand-alone version less that a year ago. It seems that the only way to get a version of Spin Doctor to work with X.5 is to buy Toast. I find that unacceptable. I paid for a working application and I expect one. A quick look at the system requirements on CD Spin Doctor page shows that it works with "10.3.9 and higher". So if unsuspecting customers are still buying it today it won't work with the latest Mac OS. This is misleading at the least. Furthermore, trying to contact "customer support" is almost impossible. I have not received any response to my inquires ( 3 separate e-mails have gone unanswered) about Spin Doctor and X.5. It seems they can find my Inbox with offers and newsletters, but when it comes to providing support for the applications they sell it is another story. From what I understand there is an update to Spin Doctor 3.1 that makes it compatible with X.5......the only problem is that it is part of the update for Toast 7 and requires a Toast 7 CD key to install.
