rubicat1
Animations on movie files is automatic. You can select the starting point. Don't think it is available for slide shows. If you really need movement for slide shows you must burn it to a mpg file from VideoWave and add it as a movie. thanks ill try that
bill_maxwell
... I think it's time I start looking for a nother authoring solution. I've wasted too much time ad money with Roxio which is too bad because I actually remember when they made quallity programs that worked. I have been using the Roxio brand software for a Loooooooooong time now... this is very upsetting to me. Yup. All I can say is "What were they thinking?" (when they produced the current version)
dpbel
Yup. All I can say is "What were they thinking?" (when they produced the current version) This is rather a "Key" thread to SONIC/ROXIO to pay attention to. I have been dealing with this same issue since purchasing this software. Not that the 79.00 spent is breaking me but..... ever since installing this version, I have never needed to post to a forum for advice/help (Until now) running ROXIO software. I am glad somewhat, that many people are experiencing these issues. I also have been a long-time ROXIO user and really settled in with DVD Builder in ver. 7 after ver 6. I really liked the added trsansisitons and effects brought forth by this newer ver. but...... nothing is running smooth anymore and now actually dread having to work on a project that I need to finish for someone else. There are freeze-ups, non working pan and zoom, changing transitions when reopened. I am some-what computer savvy but....this is rediculous to have to keep rebooting when there is a problem. After rebooting, sometimes it works, other times I need to do it a second time. I have reinstalled ver 7 on another computer but does me no good when wanting to access these transitions. I do not understand the major change on why this was allowed to eliminate these excellent features and make it a completely different running beast. Someone from SONIC needs to step up to the plate and patch these issues. I really do appreciate all the help from the people in these forums but, as brought up before, it is a little more than just updating vid cards, cleaning regs, and the hardware/software option added to this ver. There is a glitch somewhere that affects some more than others.

Does anyone know how to turn OFF the button animatins so you can have just a still thumbnail or still shot for the movie button instead of it starting to play whereever you select the thumbnail ?? Sometimes I don't like the buttons to be animated. ANY help is welcome!! Thanks
ggrussell
Sorry, not available in this version. If you read the HELP file, it says that is in the 'SETTINGS' menu which is grayed out.

Right...... so then how are they UN-Greayed out? And don't tell me that there is no way to do it, what the heck are they still listed there then?! ARGH! ggrussell
You're guess is as good as mine. It's in the HELP file so I would assume a future feature.
keylor
You're guess is as good as mine. It's in the HELP file so I would assume a future feature. you see, THAT'S where I start having a problem figuring things out. If iut was an option and feature in PREVIOUS versions, why suddenly DISABLE it NOW?!? For the past 3 versions there has been no consistancy in preformance and features and I can't for the life of me figure out why. Why someone would cripple and ruin a prefectaly good program and "upgrade" it with garbage that dosn't function. and the constant upgrading has completely wrecked my regestry to the point that I can't go back and re-install a previous version even if I wanted to. I think it's time I start looking for a nother authoring solution. ggrussell
You can easily clean the registry. I use a shareware app called Regseeker. It has a search feature where you can search for a particular string. It can also fix other things like unused extensions, etc. Just use your favorite search engine and you'll find it.
