Hiram Hunt
Hello, When I use the 128 bit encryption option to create a data disk with Creator Classic, the password dialog quits showing stars (asterisks) after the eighth character that I enter for the password. This did not happen when I used EMC 7. Eight characters is not enough to get 128 bits for an encryption key (at least with 8-bit bytes). Why is the program doing this? Where is this explained in the documentation? Thanks. -- Hiram Hunt

Hiram Hunt
Help/Encrypt. Hmmm.... All the help that I can find in Creator Classic just says check the 128 bit box and enter the password in both boxes, which does not address the issue of why it looks like Creator Classic is only taking 8 characters for a supposed 128 bit encryption. BTW, I am using EMC 9 on Windows XP. I don't understand your "Help/Encrypt" reply except as a general recommendation to look for encrypt in the Creator Classic help files. Is there more to it? Thanks. -- Hiram Hunt

Hello,
When I use the 128 bit encryption option to create
a data disk with Creator Classic, the password dialog
quits showing stars (asterisks) after the eighth
character that I enter for the password. This did not
happen when I used EMC 7. Eight characters is not
enough to get 128 bits for an encryption key (at least
with 8-bit bytes). Why is the program doing this?
Where is this explained in the documentation?
Thanks.
