Vista February 2008 Updates

Ten updates were installed on the first download for VISTA and then one additional update on the second download. Additionally, five updates for Office 2003 and WMP were also installed. Everything seems to be working at this time. My system is bit more snappy. Could something good come from these updates?

There were a number of updates out today then another one after a reboot that is suppose to make other updates more successful. For some that have updated regularly, by the time SP1 is out via Windows Update, parts of SP1 will already have been completed on your system.

Does that include IE 7 & WinPlayer 11?

If those are required for subsequent downloads, I think it will be the end of the updates

No, in Vista IE7 and WMP11 are already part of the OS and the only updates dealing with IE7 are security related.

Beerman,

I see your number of posts exceed 500,000. You must have been born BC. How about passing a few my way?

One of the moderators has been playing with me (he owes me lots of beers too!) and I went from -784 to +500,000. You can have as many as you want as they don't mean a hill of beers to me.

Oops, I was thinking SP 3.

Win2000 has the anti-malware download, a W2K patch, an IE 6 patch (I looked at that and could invision potential trouble, but none so far). Also an update for .NET 2 that I was assured wouldn't take much over 75 minutes ... until I am convinced I need it, I'm inclined to ignore it ... and find another way if I DO need it ...

I'll check for WinXP sometime when I get around to booting the Beast (WinXP).
