TMann
Until recently, I would copy LP's, edit tracks, and copy audio files to CD. When I played back CD in audio central, tracks, album title and artist would be recognized about half the time. When saving files to hard drive, I wouldn't have to copy the track tag info. This never happens anymore. What am I doing wrong? I copied The Beatles Abbey Road. When played back, the automatic lookup worked. However I copied again from LP recently as I wasn't happy with noise. After cleaning up the LP, I got a much better result, but now it doesn't recognize the album when I play the new CD. If I play the older CD, it still recognizes the album info. I am using Creator 6 on an XP Home
Brendon
I understand that Gracenote's CDDB tabulates track numbers and lengths and their positions in the album and stuff like that, and compares these with other entries in their database. Perhaps in your cleaned-up album you've changed something slightly, and it doesn't quite match the database any more.
TMann
Thanks. I do try to clean up the space between tracks(delete). This may be affecting the length of the tracks. I don't think I'm doing anything else, same tracks, same order. I don't know what's different now. It probably explains why before a fairly obscure album might be recognized, while a well known album wasn't. I'll try again, ensuring that track lengths are exactly that posted on the album. Thanks for the reply.

Thanks for the reply. Keep in mind that those times indicated on the album cover or center aren't necessarily correct. I've seen them be off by many seconds. Personally, I leave the gap between tracks the same as it was on the LP originally.
